Peedeel’s Blog is a blank brick wall on which to scrawl graffiti.
Peedeel is also known as Peter A Leonard (the A is important as he’s no wish to be mistaken for Elmore Leonard’s son, thereby boosting the boy’s book sales!).
He was born long, long, long ago and is still not dead (contrary to popular rumour). He’s a writer, and he writes under so many names that he’s come to doubt his true identity (and gender). He has a great passion for words, for language, and for ideas.
His interests are widespread: politics, philosophy, religion, literature, art – he’s currently enjoying the decline of western Civilisation, and probably helping in that decline with his dissolute behavior. Spiritually he has existed on the “edge” for much of his life, searching for truth in the esoteric (Greek ἐσωτερικός), studying Gnosticism, Hermetism, Magic, Astrology, Theosophy, and Occultism where truth is always hidden in plain sight…or so they say!
He loves a good mystery.
As a youngster he couldn’t eat anything that hadn’t once had a face. Now he’s vegetarian.
His father when alive was a linguist and professional musician; his mother, as a young woman, worked with the circus as juggler and acrobat.
His most used catch phrase when things go wrong (according to his closest friends) is: ‘Nothing to do with me, old boy!’
He considers himself a stateless citizen, or, if preferred, a citizen of the world.
He drinks like a fish. A very happy fish.
