can’t sleep at night
November 17, 2016
Diary 16th / 17th November
There’s a Japanese legend that tells us that if you can’t sleep at night, it’s because you’re awake in the dream of somebody else.
Perhaps one day I’ll write a poem which will flow like fingers on your skin. A poem that smells of you and which possesses the rhythm of your fast-beating heart. A poem with the intensity of your naked embrace…
Some people find themselves in books, others in the fire of sunset. There are those who find themselves in the eyes of another. I find myself through music, the solitary sound of a violin in the night, and life then seems an endless pursuit of its plaintive note so as not to hear the silence surrounding me.
