Norse Gods off to rape, pillage and enjoy“Lørdag”

Norse Gods off to rape, pillage and enjoy“Lørdag”

Saturday…named dies Saturni, “Saturn’s Day”, by the ancient Romans after the Roman God of agriculture whose major concerns were the sowing of seeds and fertility.

Which brings to mind the Saturnalia celebrating the God which was observed on or around December 17. Originally for one day only the festivities soon spread to a whole week in duration. The festival was characterised by “role reversals and behavioral license”.

According to the Greek poet and historian Lucian, the festival’s observance in his time included widespread intoxication, going from house to house singing naked, the rape of both males and females – along with other and varied sexual license. It was also a time for the giving and receiving of gifts.

The early Christian leaders succeeded in converting large numbers of pagans to Christianity by simply promising them that they could continue to celebrate the Saturnalia as Christians. While there was nothing intrinsically Christian about Saturnalia, they remedied this problem by renaming the Saturnalia’s concluding day, December 25th, as Jesus’ birthday.

But I digress. It’s Saturday today which is my subject. The Anglo-Saxons called it Sater daeg, the French “Samedi”, the Italians “Sabato”…the Danes and Norwegians know it as “Lørdag” which translates as “washing day”.

Imagine all those rampant Vikings naming a day of the week to remind themselves when to wash…?

But enough. The weekend starts here. Enjoy it.

Demons from hell

December 9, 2015

During the later fifteenth and early sixteenth century, it was believed that each demon of hell had more influence during a particular month of the year. Consequently people born during those months could easily be influenced by the power of that particular demon. The list of months and corresponding demons follows below:

Belial in January

Leviathan in February

Satan in March

Belphegor in April

Lucifer in May

Berith in June

Beelzebub in July

Astaroth in August

Thammuz in September

Baal in October

Asmodai in November

Moloch in December

The Devil got Nun…

June 20, 2015

“I kept seeing the shadows move. They were twisting and twining around the room. Then I felt faint…

“The devil came from those shadows. Time seemed to stand still. The room turned red around me, the colour of blood, and I began to pray out loud – only the words were wrong. Sinful somehow – or so it seemed to me at the time.

“The devil was naked, obviously aroused. He walked towards me and I closed my eyes. I felt his great weight on me, pressing down. He pulled my legs apart. I felt him thrust into me.

“I tried to move, but I couldn’t. I was powerless. I couldn’t even scream for help. He kept me pinned down and it hurt so much what he was doing to me. It went on for an hour…perhaps, longer. It made me bleed. I think I may have passed out eventually. But Satan continued to rape me.

“In the morning I was so terribly sore around my privates. My thighs were bruised, and there were ugly bite marks on my breasts. I felt dreadful. I prayed for guidance but the tears wouldn’t stop. I cried and cried.

“I prayed in my room all day until Vespers at three PM. Afterwards I went to the kitchens and helped prepare food. I couldn’t eat anything. I prayed my rosary, prayed to Mary for help. I felt empty inside. The emptiness going deep and deeper. I crawled up the stairs to my room on my knees, saying my rosary, praying, and hoping that the pain I was enduring would help me to heaven.

“But that night the devil returned once more. He raped me again until dawn. He stank of eternal pestilence and damnation. I felt I must die, the pain of it was so great. I felt I’d been abandoned by Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour. I gripped my crucifix tightly in both hands throughout this ordeal. I knew my heart was pure, yet still Satan raped me over and over again…”

Testimony taken from a cassette tape recording of Sister M testifying before a Christian gathering near Paris, October 2nd 2014.

Who prays for Satan…?

January 7, 2015

“But who prays for Satan? Who, in eighteen centuries, has had the common humanity to pray for the one sinner that needed it most?”
